Gluten-Free Dollar Tree Finds!

Busy Gluten Free

Dollar Tree Has Gluten-Free Products!

2025 Update! It’s been two years since I originally posted about all my great gluten-free Dollar Tree finds, and I’ve decided to revisit the post to see what other options I could find now. There are many gluten-free choices in snacks, drinks, candy, and even frozen items and lunch ideas. Super impressed with their website, which allows you to sort in the different food categories for gluten-free items! I will talk more below, but take a look, you will be amazed!

I was out the other day, in town, and stopped at the Dollar Tree to pick up something, and I wanted to search to see what gluten-free snacks I could find there as well! Surprisingly, there were many gluten-free Dollar Tree finds!

As you probably know, Dollar Tree is a store that offers products at really low prices ($1.25 for each item – unfortunately, inflation caused it to go up recently, as it used to be $1 per item). They have a great selection if you are looking for inexpensive items on a budget.

If you have a Dollar Tree store nearby, you should stop in; you will be surprised at all the good finds! You can access their website by clicking here.

Doing some research on Dollar Tree and just realized they own Family Dollar too! Did you know that? I will have to go to a Family Dollar as well and see what gluten-free foods and drinks I can find there! Stay tuned…..

Dollar Tree beverages, gluten-free Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree mainly has the following types of food in the store and online:

  • Breakfast and cereal
  • Spices
  • Condiments
  • Baking mixes and supplies
  • Canned goods
  • Packaged dinners, grains and pasta

The following is a better breakdown in terms of some of the items that are gluten-free in these categories.

From eating cereal for lunch (I love breakfast anytime of the day lol) to soups, canned meats, or packaged dinners, here are a few items I found that are gluten-free. You can check these out by visiting the Dollar Tree website link above:

The following items are not specifically labeled gluten-free, but do not contain any gluten ingredients. If you do not feel comfortable though unless it is labeled gluten-free, then I would stay away from these, and always check the label in case the ingredients change:

  • Pampa grape or strawberry flavored fruit spread
  • Jimmy Dean sausage links
  • Southgate Chili with beans (can)
  • Celebrity luncheon loaf (can)
  • Hormel tamales (can)
  • Armour Vienna sausages (can)
  • Healthy Choice chicken with rice soup

Gluten-Free Drinks

As most beverages are gluten-free, Dollar Tree has a big selection of gluten-free drinks. They have categories on their website, including: Soft drinks, juice, energy drinks, coffee, water, tea, drink mixes, and milk. Here are some that are listed as gluten-free that I could find:

  • Juicy Juice
  • Mott’s apple juice
  • Bai drinks (check out my blog post on Bai drinks by clicking here)
  • So Natural coconut water
  • Soft drinks (Coca-Cola, Sprite, Sunkist, Mountain Dew, etc.)
  • Simply brand juice drinks
  • Snapple
  • Tropicana
  • Gatorade
  • Powerade
  • Pure Leaf tea
  • Gold Peak tea
  • Brisk iced tea
  • Marcel’s Modern Pantry milk

Good Gluten-Free Snack Ideas

To be honest, I would say this food category is probably the most represented at the Dollar Tree, where you can find gluten-free snacks.

Here are the types of gluten-free snacks that you can find at a Dollar Tree:

  • Chips
  • Dips & Salsa
  • Nuts & Seeds
  • Trail Mix & Fruit
  • Jerky and Beef Sticks
  • Popcorn
  • Pudding & Applesauce

The following are snacks found at the Dollar Tree that say on the packaging they are gluten-free:

  • Snak Club Ranch Toasted Corn
  • Kar’s Sweet & Salty Mix
  • Tillamook Country Smoker Smoked Sausage
  • Mott’s applesauce
  • Welch’s Fruit Snacks
  • Arizona Fruit Snacks
  • Snack Pack Tapioca Pudding
  • Fireside Mini-Marshmallows
  • Ocean Spray Craisins Dried Cranberries
  • Green Acres Dry Roasted Edamame
  • Pop Daddy Popcorn
  • Act II Popcorn

As you can see, tons of choices for those with gluten intolerance!

Gluten-Free Frozen Items

The frozen/dairy isle in the Dollar Tree had some surprising finds, but since these items are frozen, you cannot buy them on the Dollar Tree website so the items in each Dollar Tree will probably vary.

I found whole frozen strawberries though as well as the Helados Mexico paletas (they contain milk though if you are dairy free just an FYI).

Unfortunately, most of the frozen section is quick foods that are processed so the majority of the items are not gluten-free. They had items like frozen meals, sweets, and vegetables. Please read the labels to make sure that they don’t contain wheat before purchasing.

Gluten-Free Candy

Dollar tree candy

If there is one thing Dollar Tree does have a lot of it is candy! Now deciding what is gluten-free candy and what isn’t is another matter altogether.

I have another blog post you can check out here which explains what Halloween candy is gluten-free if that helps.

One good thing, though, Dollar Tree has an entire category about candy on their website that you can go to by clicking here.

Their ‘Gum & Candy’ section breaks down into different categories:

  • Gum and mints
  • Chocolate candy
  • Hard candy & lollipops
  • Theater box candy
  • Sugar-free candy
  • Gummy & chewy candy

When you go into each category, like I mentioned before, you can filter by Dietary Needs and then click ‘gluten-free’ and it will filter the gluten-free candy. These would be the items that are actually labeled gluten-free.

The problem is, a lot of candy does not contain any wheat, but companies will not label the item gluten-free because there could be possible contamination. For instance, M&Ms do not contain any gluten, but Mars will not label their product gluten-free. Now, Mars does have a few types of candy that are not gluten-free, so this may be why.

Here are a few examples of gluten-free candy that I found in my local store, but again, double check the back of the box and here is a list from Celiac.com gluten-free candy by holiday if that is helpful:

  • M&Ms
  • Sour Patch Kids (original)
  • Mike & Ike
  • Snickers
  • Hershey’s chocolate bars
  • Reese’s peanut butter cups
  • Swedish Fish
  • Dots

Overall, I found some great gluten-free Dollar Tree finds! Plus, even more, you can order online rather cheaply. Check them out when you get a chance and know you do have some options when you are looking for some quick snacks and meal ideas while out shopping!
